Dr. Candy received her BS in Chemistry from Middle Tennessee State University, and followed it up with her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
While serving in the United States Navy, Dr. Candy was the #1 ranked resident during Advanced Education in General Dentistry. Providing dental care for military personnel while deployed in Operation Iraqi Freedom was an unmatched dental experience. Her work during this deployment not only brought recognition to her entire dental staff but also resulted in Dr. Candy being awarded the Navy Achievement Medal.
She has maintained a focus on continuing education in Orthodontic Movement of Teeth and Implant Dentistry and has achieved a Fellowship in the International Congress of Oral Implantology.
Dr. Candy is active in many professional, as well as non-profit, organizations, giving of her time and expertise. Professional memberships include the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the North Carolina Dental Society.
Outside the office, Dr. Candy is mother to a beautiful daughter, Jordyn, who always keeps her on her toes. She enjoys everything life has to offer being a mom, and often likes spending whatever free time she can singing, dancing, traveling, getting some much-needed rest, and eating sweets.
